AAASE is a non-profit organization whose mission is to advance leadership and excellence in science and technology of the United States, and to advocate for the voices and rights of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (“Asian Americans” or AAPI).

The United States is a country of immigrants. Asian Americans are one of the largest and fastest growing ethnic groups, currently 7% of the nation’s population and projected to be four times larger by 2060. Asian Americans have made substantial contributions to American society. In particular, Asian Americans have made pioneering advances in science and engineering, including Nobel Prize-winning discoveries, that in turn have improved and enriched the lives of all Americans. To maintain America’s leadership in science and engineering, it is essential to continue to uphold liberty and our culture of meritocracy, and be a magnet that attracts, retains, and inspires generations of talented immigrants from all over the world.

Asian Americans are facing unprecedented challenges today. We need to be proactive and forward-thinking, and to empower the next generations. We, the community of Asian American scientists and engineers, must unite in order to further enhance collaboration, communication, and mentorship. We must work constructively together to advance the leadership and excellence of science and technology in the United States, and to advocate for the voices and rights of Asian Americans.
