Membership Categories, Benefits, and Fees

Membership Categories

1.     Student Member: Any student in training (a high school, undergrad, professional, or grad student) without a doctoral degree who agrees with the mission of AAASE and is interested in participating in any AAASE activity is qualified.

2.     Regular Member: Any person with (1) a profession or interest in a science (natural, social, math, managerial, medical, legal and art) and engineering field or (2) a trainee who has obtained one or more doctoral degree(s), agrees with the mission of AAASE, and is interested in participating in any AAASE activity is qualified.

3.     Lifetime Member: A person who is of good character, is willing to make a long-term commitment to the mission of AAASE, and agrees to pay a one-time lifetime membership fee. Lifetime membership application needs to fill out the lifetime membership application form, submit a one-page CV, and pay the lifetime membership fee. The application will be reviewed and approved by the Membership Committee and the Board of Directors of AAASE. Notification of the acceptance decision will be emailed to the applicant after 1 month approximately. Once the payment of the Lifetime Membership fee is confirmed, a certificate of Lifetime Membership and the receipt of the membership fee will be emailed to the new Lifetime Member.

4.     Honorary Member (by invitation only): A person who is well-recognized in his/her own profession, has made extraordinary contributions to science and engineering or/and the voices and rights of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community. The candidate must be nominated by a member of AAASE, recommended by the Membership Committee, and approved by the Board of Directors.

c.     Eligible to apply for summer academies

d.     Annual fees: No fees

2.     Regular Member

a.     Receiving invitations to AAASE webinars and events

b.     Attending annual summit meetings with member rates

c.      Nominating special guests to webinars and annual summit meetings

d.     Nominating candidates to summer academies

e.     Nominating and voting for annual awards and board members

f.       Annual fees: $20 for 2024

3.     Lifetime Member

a.     Receiving invitations to AAASE webinars and events

b.     Attending annual summit meetings with member rates

c.      Nominating special guests to webinars and annual summit meetings

d.     Nominating candidates to summer academies

e.     Nominating and voting for annual awards and board members

f.       Eligible to be nominated for a member of the Board of Directors

g.     Onetime fee only: $200-$1,000
