    Asian American Academy of Sciences and Engineering Announces Inaugural Industrial Advisory Board

    Princeton, NJ — September 18, 2026 — The Asian American Academy of Sciences and Engineering (AAASE) is pleased to announce the formation of its inaugural Industrial Advisory Board (IAB), a distinguished group of Asian American leaders from multiple industries who will help guide the Academy’s efforts to foster innovation, strengthen industry collaboration, and support the next generation of scientists and engineers.

    The founding members of the Industrial Advisory Board are:

  • ·      Wei Cai, Chief Technology Officer, Technip Energies
  • ·      Selda Gunsel, Chief Technology Officer, Shell
  • ·      Amir Husain, Founder Argon Mechatronics and Chairman World Quant Foundry
  • ·      Danting Li, Founder and Chief Operating Officer, Wan Bridge Group
  • The Industrial Advisory Board will provide strategic counsel to AAASE on emerging technologies, industrial partnerships, entrepreneurship, career advancement, and educational initiatives. The Board will also help identify major opportunities for Asian American Scientists and Engineers, in maximizing their contribution to the betterment of Humanity, and raising their visibility in American Society.

    Haibin Xu, the 2026 AAASE President-Elect who will serve as the Secretary General of the Industrial Advisory Board, emphasized the significance of this milestone:

    “The creation of the Industrial Advisory Board marks a major step forward for AAASE. By bringing together some of the nation’s most accomplished industry leaders, we are building a key pillar to help AAASE grow beyond its academia roots into real world impact. The IAB is essential in bringing the much needed guidance and support for the sustained and accelerated growth of AAASE well into the next decade.”

    Yiguang Ju, the founding President of AAASE, stated:

    “The Industry Advisory Board (IAB) brings industry leadership, expertise, knowledge, and resources to AAASE, while seamlessly bridging the gap between academia and industry to advance scientific discovery and technological innovation. More importantly, the IAB will provide a new platform, opportunities, and resources for AAASE to nurture the next generation of scientists, engineers, and leaders, while promoting greater leadership and advancement for Asian Americans. “

    Voices from the Founding Members

    Wei Cai commented:  “The Academy has a powerful opportunity to foster partnerships that strengthen both scientific excellence and industrial competitiveness. I am excited to contribute to this important effort.”

    Selda Gunsel stated: “Innovation happens when science and engineering are connected to real-world challenges. I am honored to join AAASE in supporting collaborations that translate breakthrough ideas into meaningful solutions for society.”

    Amir Husain said: “Artificial intelligence and advanced technologies are reshaping every industry. AAASE is uniquely positioned to connect visionary leaders and researchers, and I look forward to helping accelerate that mission.”

    Danting Li noted: “Supporting emerging talent and encouraging cross-sector collaboration are essential to sustained innovation. AAASE’s new Industrial Advisory Board will play a vital role in advancing both objectives.”
